tremec 3550 swap I know that the Tremec 3550 is a much better tranny than my T-45 and with my horsepower I know that the T-45 won't hold up much longer. Actually, I'm amazed that it has lasted this long! My question is: will a Tremec 3550 bolt up to a 4.6 or not. Do I have to get a different bellhousing? What one and where if so. Any info would be appreciated. ------------------ 97 Aztec Gold GT w/Steeda heads, intake,TB, shifter, headers, subframe conn. 3"flowmaster exhaust and 125 hp NOS

Yep, need a different bellhousing, Lakewood. Can't remember where to get it though, sorry. With a GT you, need a lengthened driveshaft as well. Guy I bought my donor trans from when through the same thing you're thinking about. Let me check with him and see if he'd mind if I gave you his e-mail address, if you're interested... ------------------ 96 GT: KB subs, March pulleys, Bassani X pipe, 3.73's, alum. drive shaft, 70mm TB, K&N, KB Carbon Kevlar BP, Steeda Tri-ax shifter, Flowmasters, MSD wires H&R springs, Tokico Illuminas,MM C/C plate & GW RLCA sitting in the garage waiting for a free weekend...

lakewood makes the bellhousing and all you have to do is call them for a part number. Becareful though other people say they make them too"aka sean hyland" but theirs is a lakewood and if you go though lakewood it is less money! Call around your home town to a couple of tranny shops to see who spins their own driveshafts and get one made. It usally is under 200 dollars. fyi spend the extra money and get a tko!
