Talking 24lbs injectors and crower 15511 on speed density

To everyone who think it's impossible to put cam and bigger injectors on speed density, yes it work. No surge, just a little rougher than stock. My fuel pressure is at 29 psi ( 1psi above the stock setting), my tps is set 1.03 V and my timing is at 11 degree. I know, 11 is low but my superchip add 2-3 degree. I'm not saying that every cam will work with speed density, but this one does! The only thing i needed to do for the injectors is to lower the fuel pressure.

And if you put the 19's back in, ran 38-40 psi of fuel pressure and a 190 lph fuel pump it would run even better

I had a friend who ran 24lb/hr injectors on his stock 87GT. The 24s were cheaper than the 19s at the time. He had no issues with the change, and he was running the stock fuel pressure regulator, which is actually set at 39psi.

I don't have nearly the confidence in my hunches that gtsr has. If it's running good, and you have no drivability issues, I'd probably keep it like it is for a while. That TPS voltage is a little high though. What's it idle at?

I'm gonna put a set of aluminium heads and a good intake. I know that my cam and my injectors are not suitable for my heads and intake, but i know that the injectors and the cam are critical parts to make 350hp(that's my goal), even more on speed density. By swaping those parts, i was able to see if my project of a 350hp speed density would work or not. A guy on another forum who seem to be a guru of speed density told me that the speed density cars like to be over 1 volt. My idle is set at 900 rpm. At 700 rpm, the car was surging.

Yan, If you install a cam in a stock speed density computer you will have major driveability problems.

Check out the thread here "what NOT to do."

Lots of people at the track are running cams with no issues , you just have to tune it right. I am going to install a cam in mine soon.

One of my friends just ran a 13 flat with an 87 GT with speed density. GT-40 heads, cobra intake..and B-303 cam.

He had a guy like you telling him it wouldnt work.

"WHAT NOT TO DO" is listen to someone that doesnt respect the facts.

No flames JMO

gtsr515: the cam is already in the car and it run great. Go to www.50tech.com and ask all the question you wan't about speed density. The moderator of this forum have 347 speed density.

I agree, gtsr515, why do you insist on beating this horse? You've been confronted by many SD owners with cams that have no problems, yet you still insist that it cannot be done.

How thick is that head?

you know what, people have installed cams, heads, intakes with speed density and they ran just fine,so for you people that keep saying that it CANT be done get over it it's been done alot already...

it's even been done with superchargers added on speed density equipped Stangs with no problems....

gtsr515:There is 2 very important things to check when choosing a cam for speed density. The lobe center must be at least of 114 degree and keep the duration under 220 degree. That's maybe why some people have trouble with the b cam: the lobe center is of 112 degree and the duration is 224 degree. The only thing that make this cam compatible with speed density is his low lift of .480. I will never try put a stage 3 tfs cam on my car. Not all cam can be put on speed density. I'm sure that a lot of people with cam never check what was the lobe center before buying a cam. On speed density, you really need to check this.
