electric fan or flex fan

what do i need to do the conversion to electric fan in 1988 gt where i can get the parts including the fan and how hard is it ,or i should go with a flex fan how hard are those to put in .

Flex fan= garbage

Get a e-fan. You can pick them up and any performance shop. They're easy to install. Most fan either come with an electrical install kit or you can buy one serperately or make your own if you know what you're doing.

Fairly simple, take ya about and hour or two to do.

My advice is to use an electric fan or even 2 (puller and pusher). Where ever you get it, make sure it comes with a life time warranty. I use both a puller and a pusher on my car to get adequate cooling. I went through several fans from the auto supply store. They would only last about a year and then quit. I finally found a Hayden at O'Reilly with a life time warranty. Been running them for about 2 years now without problems.

I've run my black magic fan for years, no problems, kinda pricey though.....I've seen people get junkyard fans from ford tauraus, lincon's ect, that would require a little wiring, not too bad if you've done any minor wiring in the past, might have to buy some connectors and things to make it a nice install, good luck.

yeah i agree flex fans are garbage ..i have one LOl im just too lazy to buy another one + i dont really drive my 68 anymore - get an electric one and take the drag off the crank

I'm using a fan from a late 80's buick Lesabre, I'm using a Flex-a-lite thermostatic controller with it and a 30A relay. Total cost was about $70 and it cycles on and off like an OEM fan. I've been running this setup for 2 years and the car runs at 185F on a 100F day.

Flex fans suck. They only thing they're good for is chopping off unsuspecting fingers.
