Electrical Dead??? Please Help!
well i thought i had the bugs worked out of this 91 lx 5.0, apparently not.
what happened was tonight after driving it for like 2 min(7 blocks) everything was going fine, listening to music, lights on, heater on, and all of a sudden, boom, lights off, stereo off, all power gone, turn key off, pull to side of road. smoking from underhood, neg. bat cable hot, no power at all, battery fried i believe, and who knows what else went wrong. does anyone have any places to start looking??? going to head out and look with a flashlight, pull all the fuses and whatnot, but really im totally lost. thanks for any help!

Re: Electrical Dead??? Please Help!
pulled all electrical off of the starter solenoid, put the test light between battery (-) and (-) cable. no light came on, connected each individually to see which was drawing power, the yellow made the light bright, starter cable(got a high torque powermaster) bright, alt. power(3g) medium, amplifier(3 capacitors then the amp) bright.
i dont know where or what the fuseable links are, anyone have any info on them?

Re: Electrical Dead??? Please Help!
when i connect the fusible link wire, (-) side of bat heats up, but doesnt spark on contact, when i connect starter wire(but not the starter relay which ios built on the starter, powermaster high torque) batt (-) heats up AND sparks on contact.

Re: Electrical Dead??? Please Help!
figured it out, the starter is the problem(powermaster high torque) going to wire the power for the powermaster and the turn on wire to the switch side of the factory starter solenoid

the problem was the starter cable grounded out, i pulled the cable and inspected it and you could see the burnt area

Re: Electrical Dead??? Please Help!
Buy an optima battery, if that doesnt work then you've ruled one thing out,
I fought with my battery, had it tested, was good, it just wouldnt work good enough, It even made my solenoid sticky.
