I race at over 4400ft sometimes here in West Texas so I can relate to your problem.

This may help you some. Here is what the 88GT I used to have ran and the mod levels it was at.

Stock 88GT convertible 5 speed................ 15.20 @88mph 2.2 60ft

exhaust, headers and gears......................14.79 @93mph 2.2 60ft

explorer intake and ported stock heads.....14.46 @97mph 2.2 60ft

Slicks, pulleys, 65mm TB and tri ax shifter...13.66 102mph 1.7 60ft

All of these times were ran at atleast 4000ft of altitude.
