That sounds like a parts interchange book you are talking about. I don't think that will give you what you want.

Yes, you can run nitrous with the emissions legal heads. If you know the sniffer is coming, better buy the emissions legal heads. You don't want to buy the same head twice.

the only reason i want a book like that is to learn the different codes, you never know what wrecker you walk into, and find a motor or trans etc. that is difficult to find. and also to learn as much as i can about fords. so if theres a book you recommed let me know, also not to get rip off by someone who says that a part is it when it isnt.

THANKS MAN!

in case you were still looking for this info...
C= 60's
D=70's
E=80's
69-71 had a 9.2 deck. everything above that had a 9.5 deck. this is from cars. I am not too sure about trucks and what was put in them. if u do a search online. there are a couple of sites that explain what the casting numbers mean. it will even let u know what type of car it came out of. hope this helps some

Hey I have a 78 or a 79 block that came out of a ranchero. What deck height would that have I got it this summer and havent done anything to it yet.

Everything after 71 (or 72 cant remember) should be a 9.5 deck from the factory. Dosent matter what it came out of. I have however heard that truck 351w is stronger than a car 351w. Not sure how, but just from what i've heard
