Post Engine Building

I'm trying to figure out what I should put into a 302 engine. I have about a 2000 dollar budget just for the engine. I want to obtain more bang for the buck. I have thought of doing what I did to my fastback. I just thought that maybe for the amount I put into it I could have been able to get something beter. Any suggestions as to what type of pistons, cam, intake, heads, carb, lifters, and other goodies would be good to be added together. I dont want it to be over a 10.1 comp. Something that I could possibly drive daily. I would be using an auto c4 with a stall converter not too high maybe up to 1000 rpm over stock stall. A 9 inch rear. Would it be possible to make up to 320 hp at the flywheel with this amount of money?
