engine carbon build-up

My stang doesn't run as strong as it used to now that I don't drive it that much.I think my problem is carbon-up since when ever I drive the car hard a few times it runs better.A few weeks ago I ran the car off of a can of fuel injector cleaner but that didn't help.Tomorrow I am going to fill the car up with gas and add a bottle of fuel system cleaner. What other suggestions does anybody have?

Most fuel injector and fuel system cleaners are nothing more than kerosene. I dont think just one dose will solve the problem, but Amsoil makes a performance improver, or fuel system cleaner that really works.

How many consecutive times can I use a fuel injector cleaner without causing damage to fuel lines and other parts.

What kind of car do you have?

If it's possible, you may want to try to trickle or spray some water into the intake of the car (or down the carb). It won't hurt anything, and the steam it creates will loosen and break up the carbon on the inside of your engine. Can't get any cheaper than that man. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif
