Engine Rebuild ????'s
I am sure you guys see alot of these posts but if you could help me out I would be really grateful. Here's the scoop-
The engine is out of a 90 LX w/160k. It ran fine, the car was wrecked. I was wondering-
Can I just clean up the bore, use stock internals and rering if everything looks good?
If I get the block bored .030 do I have to tell the machine shop what kind of rings I will be using? Anyone know why?
I would like to stay below $1000 for the short block. Am I dreaming?
Is torque plate honing really critical in a car that will be abused on the street w/ occasional AutoX? I ask because I am in Italy and no one here does it.
Since this is my first rebuild would I be better off just getting a 306 kit to avoid alot of the measuring?
Does anyone make a rebuild kit for E-7's? I plan to port them out a bit.
