Engine shutdown

I have a 1990 Mustang GT. The engine is shutting off and the fuel pump relay starts to open and close very quickly. I jumped the power in the EEC Power relay to rule out a bad ignition switch, and EEC relay. After jumping it I let it run for several miniuts when the same thing happened. The fuel pump relay started opening and closing really fast then the engine died. Has this happend to anybody before? Is the computer cycling the system like an initial prime, or is the computer starting to take a dump? There are a lot of things that are powered off the EEC relay, could any of those things cause this?

Re: Engine shutdown

well with out being there its hard to say but, i would check the wire from the computer goin to the relay and see if you are losing power from the computer when the relay is clicking.if you have 12 volts there then make sure the connections are good.then i would replace the relay.now i know some are under the seat and some in the engine bay.
