Engine Stalling

I am driving a 1985 Mustang GT. Its a 302 with a 5 speed trans. After replacing my fuel pump I have come across the problem that my car stalls at about 85 miles on the tank. I was thinking that my distributor could shot but I wasnt sure. If anyone has any suggestions It would be greatly helpful.

What mods have been done to the engine, how many miles are on it, does this happen at 85 miles repeatedly, or just once?

The carb was switched from fuel injected to a 4 barrel Holly. It has happened 3 times at 85 miles. The first time I had to push it back to my house, then I let it sit and it started up and ran for a lil bit. The second time it hit 85 miles it stalled and I had to replace the the fuel pump. The third time, I just let it sit for about 45 minutes and it started right up and drove fine. I was thinking that my vaccum lines could have something to do with it. Alot of them are cut and capped. Thanks again for the help.

Actually, it sounds alot like a faulty TFI module (on the side of the distributor). I don't believe it is fuel related.

Take care,
