Engine swap - paint tips? New oil pan?
I'm getting ready to yank the engine out of the vert and drop it in the 93. I want to paint it while it's out. What's the best way to prep it so the paint sticks? Degreaser and water? Brake cleaner? Should I primer it first or just spray it with engine paint?
Also, should I bother with a 7 qt oil pan or just stick with stock? ------------------ 86 GT, GT40P heads, Crane 2031, 1.7 RR's, Cobra intake, 65mm TB, 73mm Vortech, 24# injectors, MAC GT40P headers, 2-1/2" BBK H-pipe (w/cats), Flowmasters, 3.55s, Groundpounder subs and lower control arms, 277 RWHP. THIS JUST IN!! All the good stuff is going in the new red 93 GT - no more rattles! |
