Engine work, any ideas?
I am new here. I would appreciate any advice you have. I am building a 90, 5.0. I am considering stroking the motor to 347 eagle crank tfs piston and rods, the Holley systemax2 engine kit (heads alum 61cc, lunati 5.09 cam, pushrods, holley upper and lower intake, and dual row timing chain and gears) Ford 30lbs injector, Crane lifters and rockers, Ford mass air and computer, Holley 75mm throttle body, Mac pro chamber exhaust and cold air indution. I am ready to place the orders.
Eventually, I would like to add a 14-18 lbs paxton or vortec supercharger and nos. I have built some older cars this is my first EFI. I am keeping the compression between 9.5:1 and 9.8:1 The car is for everyday use but I'd like to do between 10's-11's on race day. Any ideas on what I am planning or other ways I should go? |

Probably not a good idea to use your stock block if you want that much use out of it..

I'm no expert but if I was building a blower motor especially one i would like to run 14-18 lbs. of boost I would want a lower compression. I would keep it between 8.0 and 8.5. 18 lbs is alot of boost. If you calculate the theoretical displacement it is about 760 cubes. And a shot of nitrous on top of that. I agree with smokedawg the stock block might not be the way to go. Maybe a 351 would be more suitable. You said you want it to be a daily driver also. This is just my .02
