HP guestimates needed for my new ride
Well, as of about a week and a half ago, i'm the proud owner of a black '95 SVT Cobra. 35,000 miles, ProCharger S/C, hurst short throw, leather, loaded, black on black. after adjusting to the stiff clutch and tight, hard-throwing shifter, the car is running smoother every day. it's awsome.
now, the car is bone stock except for the S/C. since i'm putting it away the first of November until the spring, no mods will come this year except for a bigger fuel pump that the previous owner included in the purchase. but next year after i've saved up the needed funds i'd like to add an intercooler, pulleys, and full exhaust (2 chamber flows, BBK h-pipe, and still deciding on what type of headers). what i need from the knowledgeable members here are HP guesstimates at the wheels when all's said and done. i'll try and get some pics, but seeing as i still have no pics of the GT in nearly 2 1/2 years of being here, don't hold your breath. so what do you guys/gals think?

Sweet!
Sounds like an awesome car! I love the 94-95 Cobra's. What did you do with your 95 GT? |

310
I'm gonna guess 310 at the wheels. My theory is 250+50%=375 and 375X.83=310

50% and .83
I had to correct that last estimate. I had over looked the fact that we were talking about a '95 Cobra as apposed to a GT. The 50% is a generous factor for increased fwhp due to the S/C. Probably really only about 33% but he mentioned other mods that would up the estimate (exhaust, pulleys, intercooler). Ford says that the driveline efficiency for a 5 speed manual is about 83%. You should get about 83% of net SAE flywheel hp at the wheels. I'll be the first to admit I'm just guessing here. He did ask for guesstimates.

what else can i do to get more horse? even now the power is very nice, and i need to keep this thing relatively easily daily driven except for the winter months up here of course. but in the area of 400-450 would be a good stopping point. yea, i know, "stopping point" in relation to modding the engine in a '95 Cobra with low miles sounds crazy, but again i don't want a brute animal made for a track but something to rip up the street a couple days a week. plus, after the engine i'm going to work on suspension, brakes and am going to purchase some chrome Cobra R's before too long.
some suggestions would be great, i need all the help i can get. this project is really important to me. thanks again. oh and, my '94 GT is currently for sale. it has 93,400 miles on it, but it still runs in top condition. i think it would be ideal for anyone who's looking for a project car of their own.
