I had the same problem and a guy at the track told me there's a vaccuum tube or something that goes into the back of the engine, close to the firewall, and the gasket has a tendency to go bad. It's supposed to be a real pain in the a** to get at, and it makes a sound like a whistle when you turn your car off. It wasn't bad on my car, I just needed to make sure I used a deep 3/4 inch socket to tighten the x pipe to the headers as it tightens much more than the stock h pipe. It sounds stupid now but it drove me crazy all last summer.
