Where Can I find a Explorer Intake?
I was wondering where I can find an Explorer intake at? And how much of a gain will I get with it if I use a 70mm throttle body and 73mm mass air? Also how much will this intake usually cost? thanks. Im trying to put together a budget motor, i just can't afford to spend 450 on a trickflow intake.

I guess I need the upper and lower? What ever makes the explorer intake worth having. Why does it make more power and how much of a gain will it make with upgraded tb and maf?

They sell on e-bay for $200-250. The Explorer is a Cobra with a slightly different cast upper. Power is the same. Expect 10-15Hp on a stock headed engine, more with mods.

The Performer flows about 210cfm. The Explorer/Cobra/GT40 flow 205-210 cfm also. Performer RPM flows about 230cfm. I haven't seen test data on the Trick Flow stuff yet.

The edelbrock performer, and trickflow street wont flow anymore than explorer/cobra, they are all in the same class............... the explorer i have, i had to modify, you have to tap for the act sensor, that wasnt a big deal though, also to maintain your heater i believe you might have to tap for that, the explorer is an awesome n/a intake, i also run the gt-40 iron heads from an exploder, with e-cam, and some better springs, im seeing high 12's 105+ in a daily driver i commute 50 miles a day, and run a highway friendly gear.
btw i paid 250$ for my upper and lower from a guy, but you can get them out of junkyards from what i hear.
