Default f-150 8.8 vs pony 8.8

Will 3.73 gears for a f-150 fit a mustang? 8.8 rear end. For a 1998 Cobra?

The ring and pinion are interchangeable. I believe some trucks had 31 spline axles, though, so the differential may not swap.

Take care,

Default pkrwud !

hey, is that a cheap and easy way to build up a 31 spline rear-end for my 94? grab a 3.73 from a f-150 with the tow-package and throw it into my car????

thanks

I found 3.73 gears for sell but the say they are for an F-150. Will they go in a 98 cobra?

as pkrwud said, the ring and pinion will go (ie: the "gears") but the whole differential will not just plug and play..

so, yes, they should fit.. any 8.8 gearset is interchangeable.
