First 1/4 mile pass with Supercharger

I finally made a 1/4 mile pass since installing my supercharger several months ago.
It ran 13.14 @ 102mph. I only made one pass because the alternator went out during my burnout. I think its the ABS unit doing it, I've had it happen one other time at the dragstrip.

Anyway I was happy with that time considering the only non stock part on the engine (besides the supercharger) is the E 303 cam which is pretty close to stock.
I hope with a little practice I can get into the 12's.

what was your 60ft time?

with a little more practice thats definately a 12second car

At 102 mph?

Your dead alternator must have cost you at the big end of the track. Your battery also probably could not fire the ignition all that well, especially under boost.

1.82 60 ft time, a tenth better than before I had the supercharger. I couldn't even hear my motor over the car next to me but I tried a hard launch at ~ 5200 and tried to slip the clutch just a tad to keep revs up until I got rolling.

My buddy did notice a little black smoke in 3rd or 4th gear, maybe it was missing then, I though I hit the 600RPM rev limiter.

I bet the small nitrous shot helps until boost builds on your car.

Sound like you have a pretty sound car there. Reading threads like this make me "giddy" to get mine on but I need to get my n/a times down ALOT more.

How do you like the Speedbrain I was thinking of using it but couldn't find anyone that was running one. I know it's pricey but does it pay for itself as far as tuning goes?

Your MPH should be much higher. I'd have to agree with exgm that your faulty alternator really hurt you on that run.

No biggie though. Just get the alternator issue resolved and you're definitely in the 12's with a much higher MPH. :)

Also, the factory limiter is 6250 rpm - unless you're running a 6000 RPM pill on your MSD.

Take it easy,
E

Hello all.
I was just wondering what kind of tires all these times are run on? Street tires, slicks, drag radials? I've been looking at tires but don't have any solid evidence yet leading me to any particular brand. I've been 13.90 on my BFG Comp T/A ZRs. My buddy is running consistent 13.10s on motor(306) with PepBoys' specials.
Thanks.

Yea, Ive got a 6000 chip in the MSD. I dont run a factory computer, I'm running the Speedbrain.
I was running slicks.
I plan on going back this Thursday for another try. I'm bringing the car on a trailer this time just incase the alternator craps out again. I'll still be able to get the car home.
I'd like to get a time on my bike too but that will have to wait.

As far as the Speedbrain goes... I love it.

I have everything set how I like it and I can feel the difference over stock settings. It is very easy to work with atleast with my setup. I think it is well worth the money because of what I can do with it. It saved me from having to by a 6BTM MSD to handle spark under boost. It will idle with the E303 cam where the stock CPU wouldn't. Those 2 things alone made it worthwhile to me. And when I do any mods I can make changes for them. I dont have to buy a new chip everytime or dick around with fuel pressure. Also, it will datalog to a laptop which is very neat. You can see every parameter and sensor for the whole run. Really interesting stuff to me.
