first dyno session

Hello guys,
i tested my car the first time on a dyno last weekend. I built up this engine last winter. The engine should be a good streetable combo for my 67 fastback. Here the data: - 331 - scat cast crank - scat forged i beam - probe srs piston - 89 roller block - afr185 with 61cc - comp ratio 10.7:1 - ed curtis upgrade valve springs - ed curtis custom cam (build for torque in low to mid range) valve lift ex. .5632 int. .5728, duration ex. 228 int. 224 @.050, lobe 112* - comp pro magnum roller rockers - trickflow main girdle - 75mm pro-m mass air - 65mm ford racing tb - gt40 tubular upper, gt40 lower (light port matching) - custom cold air induction - 24lb injectors with 50 psi (27.5 lb) - hooker long tubes, no catalyst - 2.5 inch exhaust - off road h-pipe - flowmaster deltaflow 40 I make all my eec changes with the tweecer rt. Total timing was stock 26*, air fuel ratio @idle 14.7, @wot 12.8 Measured values: 370 PS flywheel (near your HP) @ 4700 rpm 420 lb-ft @ 4500 average power 233 PS average torque 321 lb-ft power loss @ 4700 rpm = 30 PS (manual transmission, tremec tko) what do you think about that numbers Max |
Re: first dyno session
it seems to be on the light side.i would have more timing than 26 unless u have a power adder

Re: first dyno session
the only thing else that is hurting is the 185 heads with a 331 would make more power in the upper end and less in the lower i would have went with a bigger cam making power to 6000-6500

Like i said, this was the first dyno session without playing around with ignition and fuel delivery. But i was surprised with the relatively high torque. thank you guys Markus |
Re: first dyno session
naww if u were looking to have a low to mid power like u have u should have went with the 165 heads.yea the intake would be restrictive but it will run to 5500 all day.u would have made better low end numbers with the smaller head i mean come on do the math 4700 rpm with a head that runs past 7000 on a 347.

Re: first dyno session
A guy I know has a 325 stroker (yes it's a 325) with AFR 185 heads and a GT40 intake that has a fully ported lower, he dyno tested at 305HP/351TQ through an AOD and just ran a 11.85@116 in a Fox body. I bet you're going to be happy with it.

Re: first dyno session
I cant really comment much on your engine combo (these guys know alot more than I do) but I can say you have a sweet car! Nice work!

Thank you guys.
I´m very happy with the power band. The car is very very fast so i installed rear disk brakes for more stopping power and a complete opentracker roller front suspension with adjustable spax shocks. Markus |
