first time at track with new setup

Well my best time was 11.1 at 123mph with a 1.5 60ft. I need to ditch my lowering springs because i could not hook at the line, and I need to get my lower intake to match up with my heads. It is off 3/16 on the top and bottom of the ports.
Just from moving my fuel pressure from 36psi to 42 I picked up 3 tenths. I am going to test out some spacers on my intake trying to raise the lower so it will match the ports on the heads, and I will mess with the fuel and timing some more. Once I get all the little things worked out I might upgrade my A-trim to T-trim.

Awesome times for a A-trimmed car, the 10's would be a awesome feeling. If your lower intake doesn't match the heads you need to port the heads to match. I am doing this right now with my Holleys I had about a 1/8"-3/16" lip on the lower lip of the ports, now they are nice and smooth. I just mocked the intake and heads up on the block then used a scribe to mark the heads. How much boost are you seeing with the A-Trim?

The heads already have a stage 2 port job so I don't want to take any more off of them. I am going to fab up some spacers out of 1/8' aluminum to lift it up. I am seeing about 6#'s on the boost gauge.

You still had one of the baddest cars out there Wade. And for what it's worth, your car was the most fun to watch off the line. I loved the sound of it scooting down the track.

Congrats on the prize money and the gift certificate man. You earned it. I hope you get her into the 10's next time. Don't forget you are invited to come back in May. Send me an email for info.

Thanks Kevin, I had a blast. I am going to work on the intake and do some tuning so I should be able to knock off a couple of tenths.

Sorry I didn't give you that ride, but my car filled the block with antifreeze before I could give you one. If they let me I will give you one in May.

Good job Wade! Sounds like that port match and some more traction should have you in the 10's no prob. Let us know how it works out. Light Em Up!!! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif Jonathan

No worries dude. Norm doesn't care if you have passengers so maybe we can try in May and see how she runs.

Sounds like you have a bit of work ahead of you trying to come up with a way to raise the lower up. I gotta see that when it's finished =)

I understand the concern about opening up the heads any more but when you port match them you don't really have to take out a ton of material to get them to work. If you can make the spacer idea work go for it but I would think port matching the heads would be better. With 6# of boost you are turning awesome times, with a T trim and 12# of boost it may put you in the low 10's high 9's! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif
