Question Flowmasters

OK I have read that everyone that has flows has or reccommends the 2 chambers. Well I go to flowmasters site and they have 2 chambers for originals and then the Delta series. So which one of these is it? I want the louder and I think it is the 2 chamber originals, the shop I was talking to said he had the 2 chamber flowmasters in stock, but he did not specify originals or Delta's. I guess I will have to ask. Is the Delta series much louder than OEM? I know the originals have to be. Just need this cleared up thank everyone!

The Delta flows are a little louder than oem. They reduce interior resonance inside the car. But those are for wussies who can't take a little noise in their ear Personally i like mine as loud inside the car as it is outside. The original flows sound better.

Let me insert my little ad in here:
I have a brand new in the box 2 chamber Flow part #42443. Its the direct replacement muffler for the Stang, 2 1/4" inlet/outlet. I was going to use it on my Tbird but decided on a different setup. I'll sell it to you for $35 shipped. Thats about half price of what you'll pay. Then you just buy the second one at the shop and you'll have saved yourself about $30.

Well not quite, i have 2 chamber flows and not delta but the delta offer more power then the 2 chamber flows. It has different baffles to produce less noise and more power then normal 2 chamber flows.

I don't think it would be much of a differnce in hp between the two. Maybe sound but not power. But thanks for the info.

Yes there is a difference between delta and oringal, maybe not much but on the drag strip most everyone who uses flowmasters uses delta, it weighs less and produces more power then oringal

Nice car 96! I decided to go with just the mufflers. Def the 40 series 2 chambers. The shop I called said they had the 2 chamber 40 series in stock. I then ask if it was the originals or the Delta's, he went to check and I get this damn feeling that he really doesnt know... But I could be wrong and am just to protective of my stang. I figure that either way, Delta's or original I will be happy. By the way, he said $125 gets em both installed...

Delta flows might make 1hp more than orginal flows....MAYBE. Considering you only pick up 2 or so hp from swaping just the mufflers it doesn't really matter. When picking mufflers just pick the sound you want, the performance is all about the same no matter what kind of mufflers

I called the shop again and he said it was the originals so that will be sweet! By the way I am calling tomorrow and paying for my 4R70W to T-45 swap kit!! Damn I cant wait, I am tired of my computer shifting! I will let yall know how she turns out!! Hey if any1 wants my auto(all parts that a manul dont need) or knows someone who needs parts let me know I will get rid of it cheap and we can go through E-BAY for security...
