Compression ratio is 9.0:1.

I thought the T-5's after 1985 got 2.95 first gear ratios, which upped the torque capacity from 260lb/ft to 285lb/ft. Then later they went to the "z" spec, which further increased torque load to 305lb/ft with the 3.35 1st ratio, and in the Cobra 2.95 for 330lb/ft. I'm not sure when they began using the tapered roller bearing for the input shaft that designated the "z" spec, and I believe that tranny also got slightly stronger gears as well.

Baseline for a bone *** stock '92 T-5 GT should be around 14.5. Make sure the air silencer is outta there, add a cold air induction, underdrive pullies, 3.73's, bump the timing, DR's and with very good driving a 13.5 should be within reach. Adding a catback and a larger fuel pump(which should be done anyway, the stock fuel pump is weak) should add a little extra to the top end, which may give you that little needed boost if you are only a tenth away. Otherwise a hi-flow cat or off road H-pipe can give you some hp too.

It's not too hard, and not too expensive to get that car to run a 13.5. Dropping below that gets trickier.
