Front control arm bushings..."Not Serviceable"???

I have just bought new springs, anti-sway bars and polyurethane bushings for my '90 LX 2.3l. I figure that if my 0-60 is double digit, I don't want to slow down for the turns! While looking through the service manual I found a note that says "Ball joint and bushings are not serviceable". Is this true?? The kit I bought said it includes front control arm bushings, I see ball joints for sale in the mag's. What gives??

I guess the real ? is, has anyone done this and how? I can get the arms off but i'd like to know how/if the bushings come out.

Actually, I'm about to do the same thing to my baby here is a few weeks. I'm just waiting for the parts to arrive.

As far as I know, you CAN replace them. Your front control arms should be the same as mine. I think "not servicable" means you don't have to grease them I've never greased any of my suspension parts before (except when I installed my rotors) because I have polyurathane all over the place. I don't have any squeeks or any signs of wearing.

They are not meant to be greased (serviced), but are replaceable. I uesed the Energy Suspension ones on my stock control arms (before going to tubular k-member and arms).

This is true they are not serviceable, meaning you can't grease em, but you can replace them. Big difference.

Some people's bushings pop right out, some need to be pressed. I gave up trying to get mine out and ended up paying more to get the old ones out than the energy suspension ones costed! They did a good job of sharpening up steering response though.
