Fuel Pressure Gauge

Well, it'll soon be time for the engine swap, and I need to know where I can mount a gauge to measure the fuel pressure. I have access to the 87+ style rails and lines but not schrader (sp) valve. Is there a gauge that could fit into the fitting on the rail?

If not anyone know what works? Or does anyone know what works on my 86 rails which doesn't have a fitting?

The hard line from the flexible to the rails dosen't have a fuel pressure test port? Thata the easiest way of plumbing it in If not then I dunno with the stock regulator rail layout? I have a paxton FPR and it has an extra port for mounting the FP gauge.

yes.. that's another way of doing it.. just get an adj. fuel pressure regulator with a port for a gauge!

Well there's no fittings at all on the 86 rails (at least mine, and my friend's cars). I do have a set of 87 rails with the fitting, but no schrader valve in it. I've got an adjustable regulator that doesn't have a port on it for a gauge. Anyone know where I could find that schrader vavle? Or a gauage that would take its place?

Just look in a Jeg's or Summit magazine. Accel makes one and Jeg's also makes one. Both are around $50.00 and just screw into the schrader valve (without the valve in it).
If you want, I'll take a picture of it after work and send it to you.

Thats the way I did it. I just plumbed my gauge into the test port. It was kinda neat how it fit snug up in there against the corner of the engine and altenator. I used a liquid filled pro-comp for mine. If ya lived in the tidewater area of Va you could come get the line and gauge. I'm planning on going with the aeromotive setup.

My 86 GT has the Schraeder valveright beside the fuel press. reg. I removed the stock FPR and put a Holley adjustable one in it's place. I then ordered the fitting to replace the Schraeder valve(got it from Race Parts 2(Kevin). It screws right in, and you can get it with AN4 coming out or 1/8"MPT. Whatever you prefer! Then you go to your gauge. Mine is in my cowl vent.
