![]() I just ordered a shift kit from Holcomb Motorsports today and it should be here within two days .Has anyone tried the Bauman piece and if so what kind of performance are you getting. If you have installed one how big of a pain is it ,the catalog says 3-4 hours that seems a little long compared to the shift kits I have done in the past but they were chevy th-350's (pleases forgive me lol)!

![]() My Dad just received his kit and he was reading over the directions. You get like two gaskets and some spacer washers. He says about $5 worth of parts, but your paying for the engineering. He said it is a lot different than the kits we have installed before and it will probably take at least 4 hours. He also purchased the servo kit at $70 and he says that is probably $150 worth of machining in aluminum. He thinks it balances out since everyone running this kit just can not say enough great things about it Also just so you know you will be doing RPM runs and recording them against a graph to change shift points so you also need to do this before you start so add that into the install also. I think he is planning on installing this into his car this weekend. He has a 92 Convertible with a Vortec running 4.10 gears.

![]() wow, its pretty amazing that the baumann kit can do all it claims to do, including raise WOT shift points, and can be custom calibrated, and its nothing more than a couple spacers.
So that servo they are selling now is $70.00! I was hoping it would be cheaper. Let me know how it runs after the install. I think im going to leave mine alone for now, but I am going to do the shift pattern modification again. I can make my shift pattern 1-2-3,4 so there is no need to raise the WOT shift points like the baumann kit does, as I can hold second gear without doing the 1-D-1 shuffle. I am looking for firmer, harder shifts though. Let me know if it shifts really hard or not. thanks |
