New motor no fuel pressure? Help please
OK I just put my motor back in.New heads(windsorJr.),cam(e303),lifters(1.7),headers(s hortys),water pump, and all the little stuff. The motor spins fine, but will not fire. I have a autometer electric fuel pressure gauge that was working fine (3months old)it reads 0 fuel pressure. I cracked the fuel lines and found fuel ,but it just dripped out. It should have come rushing out correct?
I went over the wiring and plugs all looked ok. I checked the grounds three correct? Two on the back of the block and one in the front? I'm lost I can hear the fuel pump(155 3months old) kick on and there is fuel in the lines, but no pressure. Any body have any ideas. What should I check? ------------------ Check my site for mod www.fordmustanggt.com |

We'll since you know you are getting fuel from the pump trace the system, the fuel filter? and if you had the tank down during this period maybe a line is smashed some where. If you have a fuel line disconnect tool pull the fee line and turn the key, it should shoot gas out the line, if you are getting gas to the line, you should have fuel pressure to your gauge which I assume is off the Shrader valve on the passenger side, or if it is on the AFPR check that as well.
