Fuel Pump Question

Can someone clear this up. I have 83 5.0 conv. I know there is a fuel pump on the engine block but, is there also a electric fuel pump in the tank. Do they have two?

Not to my knowledge. They have a mechanical pump on the engine block.

So I quess it's just the sender unit and the vapor return line. Does that sound correct?

I've had a 85 GT and a 84 GT and I cannot remember any return lines except for the emissions crap but to my knowledge nothing returned to the gas tank.
Where are you looking at?
There should be two line on the pump. one from the tank and the other to the carb. Your car is carborated right, meaning it wasn't converted. I know in 85 the convertibles had TBI and in 86 they converted to Speed Density.

I quess what I'm asking is that there is no electric fuel pump on the carburated 83 mustangs. True? Just the sender unit and the vapor return line on the tank.
Thanks, PM

That is correct. No electric pump.
