Question Gear drive maximum RPM?

Can gear drives really only turn 6000 RPM's?

I ran the gear drive in the 289 in my '68 stang over 8k RPM... a milodon.. ;-)

That's not true. My 65 stang has pete jackson gear drive and it's gone as high as 7400RPMs. YEEEHAAAA!!!

It's recommended by the manufacturers that you don't go over 6,000 so that way if any thing could ever possibly go wrong they have their @ss covered and won't have to deal with it.

I have a pete jackson gear drive, and I shift at 6800.
