gear install price!!!???
i went to a local mechanic shop today and i know the guy has a few mustangs older ones..i asked about how much a gear install would be and he quoted me $500-$700...thats with labor...dose this sounds right?? mabe i should have a freind help me and do it my self?

I hope you mean $500-$700 for the purchase of the gears and the installation . Even then, $700 is rediculous. Gears are $170-$200 to buy. Most shops charge $200-$250 to install them. There is no reason why you shoud pay that much to have gears installed. Keep looking around. With the purchase and installation, you should pay a total of $400-$500..no more than that. Good luck
Oh yea, I paid $190 for my FRPP 4.10's and $240 for the installation.
