Speedo drive gears
I have had Ford Motorsport 3.55 gears put in my 1990 GT and it pushed the speedo 10 mph fast. I was given a black speedo drive gear to replace the white one in the gearbox, but this was not really any better. I have since fitted 17 inch wheels with 235/45/17 tyres and the speedo is now being ignored!! Does anyone know what type of gear I should be using?? The car is a 5 speed.

The black 20 tooth gear is the correct one, but with those tires, you'll do better with the pink 19 tooth gear.
Take care, ~Chris

Really strange!! I was given a black gear to fit when I had my gears done, by a race car builders who knwo all about Mustangs, I can only assume it was a 20T one, but the speedo is still 10mph fast, I have 235/45/17 on my car and the Hanlon Motorsport website says thats what I should have. If I had 245/45/17 then I would need the 19T one, think I might just buy one anyway to try and solve this mystery!!
