![]() i am looking getting a set of heads that have a casting number of C90E. i was told that they are 1969 castings and have been ported and polished, new valve guides and seals,FMS valves, springs, locks, and retainers, and have been hot tanked and fluxed. supposedly will flow better than the gt-40's.
is anybody else using these heads, and what do you think of them? thanks

![]() What you are looking at is a set of 1969 351W heads. If the work has been done to them that's stated, yes, they'll flow better than GT40 irons.
With a little tweeking, they will fit your engine. |

![]() what about changing the intake also? i read where i will need to use 351 gaskets because the water jackets dont quite line up right, but am wondering about the intake. i run a Holley 650DP and was leaning towards a performer intake, but now i am not quite sure which way to go if i do get the 351w heads.
any suggestions?

![]() The 351W heads are nothing spectacular. 1.84/1.54 valves if I remember correctly. With the work, they probably flow pretty well, but they will still fall short of most aftermarket aluminums and irons. It all depends on the amount of work done to them.
Pretty much it's the fact they use different sized head bolts, 1/2" vs 3/8." That, and there are some of those minor water jacket differences. |

![]() The bolt problem can be easily solved by ARP. They have bolts or studs designed for 302's with windsor heads.
