![]() I was expecting a little heavier, but car weighed in at 3150 (3320 with me in it). Not too shabby. Where is there some weight that I can remove to help me get to the 3000 range. Also, my friend weighed his 96 TA (T-Tops, 6spd). 3440 lbs. 3620 with him in itI was expecting about 50lbs heavier. Just some information if you guys were wondering what your mustang weighs.

![]() StreetStang:
3150 is about right for a '93 GT. Unfortunately, it's fairly difficult to drop much weight from your Mustang without gutting the car or otherwise changing it's 'personality'. You can remove the rear seat (about 40 pounds) and the A/C (about 50 pounds if you take out everything). A fiberglass hood will save some pounds and of course aluminum wheels and aluminum heads help, too. Doing all these would come close to the 150 pounds you're seeking to lose but do you want to never be able to carry a passenger in the back seat, ride around with no A/C all summer and pay to have a fiberglass hood finished and painted to match your car? Lots of people do so you won't be alone but with 100 pounds being worth about 1/10 reduction in your quarter-mile et, you have to seriously question the trade-offs in comfort and cash outlay to get to 3000 pounds. |

![]() My car weighed in at 2760 pounds with a quarter tank of gas.
I've done a decent amount of work to take the weight out. Heres the list: glass hood, Welds, aluminum heads, racing seats, no rear seat, no spare/jack, no padding under carpet, no foglights/brackets, no emissions equipment, no sway bars, no padding behind the interior panels, no tailpipes. If you replaced those Pony wheels you would drop a ton of unsprung weight. Dropping the weight makes a big difference. I run low 12's @ 112 on motor with 309 rwhp. Most full weight cars with my power trap around 107-108.

![]() I weighed in at 3040 lbs. with a 1/4 tank and w/o me.
Weight mods are as follows for my Coupe: - Alum heads - No A/C (took out everything) - No smog pump - Alum. D/S The "pony" wheels, sway bars, and jack & spare are probably hurting me a little. Plus, I installed a Tremec 3550, and steel blowproof bell housing (HEAVY!) E
