Default piston replacement

Hi there everyone. I'm trying to figure out if this machine shop is trying to screw with me and charge me an additional 250 for rebalancing the engine when I replace the pistons? Do I or don't I need to do this? Thanks

Depends. Stock replacement pistons in a stock engine should be okay, but there is no guarantee. If the rest of the engine is balanced, then you would be wise to balance the pistons.

I always have the rotating assembly balanced when it's for an engine that is ever going to see more than 4000 rpm's, but that's just me.

Take care,
-Chris
