GT-40X Alumin. Heads/ Edlebrock Performer intake. Good combo?

I was thinking about investing in this combo but I was just curious what you guys thought about the two. Should I stay with Edelbrock or go with the GT-40 intake? The reason i'm leaning toward edelbrock is because you can unbolt the left side of the plenum (driver's side) and have better access to the runners for port/polish work etc. GT-40 doesn't have this type of access. I'm definately going with the GT-40X Aluminum heads though, my dad can get them for 20% off, I guess Ford and Goodyear have some kind of employee benefit thing goin on. 20% off on ALL ford parts. well anyways the intake is what i'm optional on, should i go for the more expensive Edelbrock, or is Fords' Intake good enough?

If you can get the GT-40 for cheaper than the Edelbrock then do it. Both intakes will work great with those heads. The edelbrocks upper can be modified whereas the GT-40's can't but the GT-40 upper flows really well and there's more airflow potential to be found in porting the lower anyways. I'd say get what you can get the better deal on (of the two).
