Talking GT-40Y Turbo Swirls

I hope you guys can give me good news cuz otherwise, I am a jerk that spent $810. I just won an auction on a set of these type heads $760 +$50 shipping and I want to put them on my 94-stock 302 block. Am I gonna have some problems in installation? Any alternations I need to fit them? Will they fit under the sock valve covers AND what type of gaskets do you recommend?

My cousin has these heads on his 5.0. They are between the Gt40 iron and the GT40x.
Id like to see how yours perform on your car compared to his. Just find out whatever gasket is recommended. That sounds like a fairly good price too.

Sounds like you got a decent deal on the heads. Almost anything is better than stock and they should work with the stock valve covers.

Are you running the stock cam? I would recommend adding some 1.7 or 1.72 roller rocker arms, but this would most likely require the use of different valve covers.

yes i still have the stock cam. i dont plan on ever changing it. i want to see how fast the car will go with it really. OH i got recommendations on parts that must be installed with these heads. The parts are M-6065-B289 for head bolts and recommended gaskets are "M-6051-B51 expanded graphite head gaskets" I am having a hard time finding these since they are made from ford motorsport. What other manufacturers have these very same parts? I understand their part numbers will be different so if you can provide them, I'd be much oblidged.

check to see if the head bolts that they recommend are torque to yield , also known as stretch bolts, dont buy these.buy quality head bolts from your local speed shop like arp bolts. you can buy mccord graphpack head gaskets. they are made by clevite and are just what you want.these are usually carried by local parts stores.
