Default EEC tester questions......

Will a EEC tester, the 35 dollar cheapo unit, diagnose a bad spark plug wire?

get an analog voltmeter and get the codes from that. Better yet, use that meter to test the continuity of your spark plug wires!

Yes, the $35 EEC tester has a "clylinder balance" test funtion that will tell you if one cylinder is weaker than the others, which could possibly be from a bad plug wire.

This works with SEFI engines, like the Mustang, but won't work on MPI engines, like most other Fords.
