Flow #s Explorer, Cobra, GT-40 intakes
Could someone lead me to a website, magazine article or thread that compares the flow numbers for Explorer, Cobra and GT-40 intakes.

I'm not quite sure about the exact numbers, but I do know they are all about 200. Hope this helps.

i asked this same question a little while back. I think one had the explorer at 189, and the cobra and GT40 right at 200 with the GT40 just barely nudging out the cobra. I'll do a search for it...

Not really, especially after you do a close inspection of the two. The GT-40 has a REALLY small cross section in the plenum, where the air has got to make the 180 degree turn before entering the runners. I think this is the real restriction in the GT-40. The cross section of the Explorer is much broader here, allowing the plenum to fill smoothly and hence feed the runners smoothly. The RPM beats them both in this area plus it has much straighter runners.

Well that sure makes my day
Jeff, besides extude honing, what could I do to my upper to make it flow a little better? Smooth out the roughness that your article talks about? Is that about all I can do?
