GT40P chambers are smaller than E7s. GT40 chambers are larger than GT40P.

1979bruiser, i'm looking for the size of the bolt that screws into the head that holds the rocker, i think its 5/16, i looked up rockers for an explorer ( year with P head ) and it said 5/16 bolt, so i'm guessing thats what it is.

yes, you can use stock pedistals on the P heads, so it should be 5/16"

So i go up to summit today and ask for 1.6 rockers, and i'm on the way home and they gave me 1.7's. I'm pretty sceptical about using these, but i dont want to make another trip back to summit.
I'm cofused on how to check if they'll clear or not.
Anyone have the same heads and cam as me ?

GT40P heads, Trickflow stage1 cam.

Do a search for checking piston to valve clearance, there's a couple different ways to do it.
