Question Hard to shift into Gear at Stand still?

Lately, My stang has been hard to put into gear at a stand still. (Its ok when I am driving) Usually, I can go thru the gears till it loosens up but now sometimes I can't even get it to go into any gear. I really have to force it in! Is this bad on my tranny or is it just a pain for me? How can I fix this?

what gear is it normally giving you problems with? Like with reverse, it helps a lot if you put it into 5th, then bring it down into reverse, or putting it in second then reverse. Once in awhile it might give you problems going into a normal gear like first, this is fairly common i think. It's something inside the tranny that's not lettin you go in, i believe, but don't hold me to that. And sometimes if you try to go in reverse and it won't go in and you've tried everything, put it in first, go forward about a foot, then it should work.

When my car sits overnight or at work all day it is hard to get into reverse, i ahev found that go into first then it slips right into reverse with no trouble at all.

I have found that trick. So this is normal for a stang? It doesn't give me any problems while I drive or speed shift?

as far as i know, i think it's common on all manual transmissions. It shouldn't be a real common thing like every single time you're at a complete stop, but it happens about once a week that it doesn't want to into first on a dead stop. also, if it's not wanting to go in, and you're in traffic, you can always start out in 2nd.

Same happens to me, and i was told its normal on mustangs.

Also, i can't powershift. I was told by the mechanic i needed to change the clutch when i first bought the car, so hopefully i can powershift once i change the clutch.
