has anybody used this product?

i was just wondering if the comp polymers "5.0l powerbox" is anything like they say it is? it is on jegs web site under part #249-vh050. it is supposed to boost 20 hp as well as flow more than the GT-40 intake. and it is suppoesed to weigh 20 lbs. less than stock. if all this is true why is it so cheap compaired to other intakes?
i really would like all of your oppinions. thanks for the help.

Box intakes can make more power than regular intakes, and they are easier to make; however, the horsepower comes at higher rpm's with a significant sacrifice in torque.

Most of the street oriented cars out there need intakes with longer runners in order to keep the velocity up through the intake path. This gives you that nice seat of the pants power. When you use a box intake, the only way to keep the velocity and volume of the air up is to increase the rpms...probably higher than you would want to go on a N/A street engine.

Of course, if you're running a blower or turbo, they work pretty good...the blower takes care of all the air-speed issues.

For the street, I wouldn't run a box intake on a N/A 302.

one more thing to look at, I would NOT by this intake for power adder either. It is made of plastic...thats why its so light. It does have it own litle corner on the market though. Ive seen them used on NA combos that race with street tires. It does what its supposed to..takes away low end torque for high end HP. This lets the street tires hook up.
