				 | 1986 5.0 Mods What heads, if any, can I bolt onto a 1986 5.0HO without piston to valve clearance issues? Can I bolt on 1.6RRs? Would I see any gains with an aftermarket intake, or would the cylinder heads be holding me back? I'm getting power hungry and need ideas. BTW--Current mods--Explorer 65mmTB, K&N Filter-removed air silencer, Timing at 16*, Magnaflow mufflers--hogged out cats, and a BM fan later this week. 3.27or3.55 gears coming this spring. Thanks, Jeremiah

				 | Your on the right track with your mods now that you got more air coming into your engine you might want a better intake, I have Trick Flow street heat upper and lower intake which flows, as for heads theres a wide market out there right now I think AFR 185's and Edelbrock heads are whats hot along with some MAC or BBK long tubes or shorty headers to get all that air out. I think the 1.6 would be fine with mild heads and a stock or mild cam. Hope I could help I have a set of gt40ps on www.ebay.com along with some headers Item #'s 2461498353 and 2461505285

				 | In 86 the pistons didnt have valve reliefs. I have heard that the Trickflow twisted wedge heads will work on an 86 cause they dont line up with the stock valve reliefs anyways.

				 | I'll have to look into that. I love everything about this car except for the lack of valve reliefs.......

				 | Yup, TFS Twisted Wedges will work, as long as you don't go too big on the cam. Use a set of 1.6 RRs, and a good intake and you'll love it. I don't think anything bigger than the E-303 or the Stage 1 cam would work.

				 | What ratio rockers does my car come with stock? Would a mass air conversion be neccessary to realize the full potential of a head/intake/cam/rocker swap? Sorry for all the questions, I like to do my research well ahead of time.....less surprises once I get the project underway. Thanks again.

				 | A mass air converson would not be necessary but I would highly reccomend it.

				 | I was running speed density up untill a couple of months ago so I know you can run speed density with alot of mods even superchargers. But there is no doubt that mass air is way easier to tune.

				 | 86 block is a Mexican block I believe. No coolant passages between the cyl walls. Means you can bore .040 over w/out problems. I have another 86 block you can buy or if you really dont want valve reliefs I also have an 89 block with stock ported heads, B-303 cam and 1.7 rockers.

				 | If you wanna pick up some power for cheap, grab a 87+ intake and a set of stock E7TE heads from a 87+ stang or truck and give them a light port job yourself. -Josh, aka the tireburner
