Head questions
I have some windsor senior heads and was wondering what were there recommended RPM powerband?
I htink they have 200cc runner 2.02 and 1.60 valves How does runner size effect power and when you gain it? Also anyone know the max flow for these heads stock? |
Just my two cents. Based on my friend's experience with the Seniors, they'll wind to 6000 without a problem. It's kinda difficult to determine the exact powerband without knowing the induction system, exhaust, and cam.
Nice heads. You've got a lot of material to port, if you choose. Extreme porting on my friend's heads yielded 270 CFM Intake, 180 exhaust at 0.500 lift and 28 inches of H2O. Despite the weight, cast iron does have a few advantages over aluminum. |
These are the unported numbers:
Intake 229 CFM at .600 lift Exhaust 151 CFM at .600 lift Source - fordmuscle.com |
Quite frankly, I think you're going to lose a TON of low end with those heads. Flow rate is very linear, and huge runners make for **** port velocity. That and they don't flow as well as many aluminum heads on the market. That exhaust flow is shitty if those numbers are right.

Camshaft clearence
what is the lift on the stock cam as my valves were hitting the pistons but now i flycut them down just a bit and they are fine but cant get any more lfit because of this. Is the stock lift crap compared to others What is a good cam for these heads with near stock lift and wiht a holley intake? What owuld my numbers be? THanks guys |
