Header choice
While im fixing my car im going to do some playing around. Im thinking of putting on some headers but im wondering if i should go with equal length shorties with a bassani xpipe w/cats, or BBK long tube headers. what would be the advantage/disadvantage to either. thanks

I would definately recommend a set of BBK longtubes.
I actually helped a friend install a set of them today, and they went in alot easier than I thought they would. The fit and finish on them is great. the advantage of longtubes over shorties is more torque throughout the RPM range. But the disadvantage is installation and price. I have BBK unequal shorties on mine, and they are great headers. Good price and fit really well, but you just cant get the power out of them like you can with the longtubes. If your car is mostly stock, I would recommend just staying with the stock headers for now. Put the money somewhere else, and you will be happy in the end.

I always believed in longtubes, but i just installed some flowtech unequal 1-5/8 shorties, they were cheap, easy to install, and i noticed some more pull in the seat of the pants, didnt kill lowend as bad as i hear equals will, but my motor is fairly stock, i am running in the consistent high 99 mph consistent now, and recently went 13.47.
but forget the stock ones, they suk........
