Header Gaskets

Just installed a set of Hooker Super Comp longtubes on my 88 gt. I was told to not worry about using the gaskets. Is this right or not?

Why wouldn't you use the gaskets on the headers??

I'd sure use them....don't like all that leakage noise.

I have always used them with no troubles.

I too have never heard of not using gaskets on headers. I've had numerous leaks even with gaskets. I often have to replace gaskets on the headers every year or so. No gaskets makes no sense to me.
