Dark Knight, the short H pipe for longtubes is cheaper than the pipe for shorties. So unless you never plan on changing your crappy 4 cat pipe the longtubes are better. Think of it this way, you spend 50 bucks more for longtubes then you save 50 on the H pipe so it works out fine. If you want a quality exh system from the header back its going to cost you about a grand whether you get shorties or longtubes, you just get more power for your money with longtubes.

no crap..headers a waste??? WTF? you can do all the mods in the world but if you exhaust cant flow freely your f**ed

saying headers are a waste is like saying a better flowing intake is a waste

If you think headers are a waste just go take a good look at the mangled $hit Ford put on there from the factory. Its probalby crimped, to he11 and twisted, I know mine are. Just by looking at those things you should be able to see that they need to go.

Right now, I am going to do very few mods. I don't know how far it will go after that, but are headers worth the install right now? I'm going to get (I'm aod stock '95 GT by the way):

pulleys, 4:10 gears, shift kit, and cold air intake

I'm also going to bump the timing and take out the air silencer. Should I get headers? And if I do, should I do the whole exhaust? Will I feel anything with my short list of mods?

Thumbs up

Andrew go for the exhaust upgrade.Any time you can make the motor breathe easier,go for it!

Especially when you look at the restrictive, unevenly bent factory exhaust set-up..

When I replaced my exhaust with MAC 1 5/8 long tubes,H-pipe and 2 chamber flowmasters, the car was totally stock, but yet really woke the car up

Where and what brand of H pipe with cats did you get for 199 bucks? Most of the decent brands are 399. Im glad you got a good deal.

Why not try a pair of Hooker's My headers work and fit fine. I don't know about the quality compared to the others but they work or me.

Are the Hooker headers painted black or are they chrome.
