Headlight Adjustment
I've got a 91, with the aero headlights. My Haynes manual mentions removal and installation of headlights....but not adjustment. I just installed some Silverstars and my headlights are still CRAP! I need to readjust them but I can't find anything that looks like an adjustment screw. Does anyone have a photo or a good way they can explain how to adjust the up/down angle on the headlights? The side to side would be nice too, mine are a little off. Thanks.

You'll need a 5mm socket.
See attached picture # 1 is the adjustement screw # 2 is one of the three retaining nuts # 3 is used to help the head lamp fit the side corner and the signal light. But may be adjusted before installing the headlamp on the car because the end is round On the other side of the headlamp you have another adjustment screw and two more retaining nuts. I've adjust mine on the road in front of my house. Turn on the headlight and hide one of them with a cloth to an easy adjust seperatly. When it's done, go over 200 - 250 feet in front of your car to see if the adjustment is good for incoming vehicules. Fog light is the same technique |
So that adjustment screw has a 5mm end on it?? Mine feels round, which is why I never tried to mess with it.....

You're supposed to have at least 2 on the 3 with a 5mm end. maybe there's a mistmatch when you've done the upgrade. Usually they are at the top of the head lamp. It's a pain to adjust with a pair of pliers. You can also try a salvage yard at the worst to find these screws.
Hope this help. |
