which heads for the street??
i have a 89' gt w/the following stuff: 70mm tb & spacer, underdrive pulleys, sub-connectors, cold/ram air w/k&n, 3.73's, full exhaust, 190 pump, adj. reg, & 24# injectors(not hooked up yet). this car is a 85% street car and about a 15% strip car. i want it to go fast but still be fully streetable. i was thinking of getting the tfs alum. heads but there rather pricy. what are the best heads i can get that aren't super ported? gt-40p's or should i just get the stock ones ported?? the only future mod i have for this car is an 80 shot of nitrous...
p.s. i am on a rather tight budget |

TFS Heads pricey??? Where are you looking? They are the cheapest Aluminum head out there. I bought mine from Saleen for $950 assembled. I lov'em. If you want power the TFS heads are by far the best bang for the buck.

check out www.worldcastings.com to see their
new Rousch-tweaked iron Windsors. Should be right up there with AFR's, TF's etc per a dyno article I have, and I think they can be had for around $800. If that's too much, your next bet (if you can't find a good used set of some kind?) would be the GT40P explorer iron heads - they can be had quite reasonably - look in Mustang/Ford mags. The one thing they lack is a decent sized exhaust valve (1.45) but you could maybe get the 1.54's put in. They take a specific header to clear the diff angle on the plugs though. Maybe GT40's? |

24's right now, but I have a set of 42's sitting in my garage. I really need the 42's because I am choking out on my dyno.
