Heat blanket removal on 94GT??

Has anybody removed the heat blanket from under the hood? For those who have, has it helped the car run cooler, and has it made your hood paint bubble up or change color?
Thanks in advance.

I havent had any trouble at all with mine. In fact I even cut holes in the underside of the hood. That is a must when running GT40 intakes with a 1" spacer plate. I cant really say for sure whether or not it ran cooler. Its been too long since Ive done it, and I didnt even think about that. It kinda makes sense that it would run cooler though.
