				 | Help adjusting my clutch cable.....Please!!! Greetings to all, My first post: I drive a 92 5.0L LX Sedan... I have replaced my clutch and cable with an aftermarket one. I assume my cable needs adjustment beacause I feel a bit of a slack or shudder when releasing. Once my mechanic went under the dash with a wrench and adjusted it. I'm not sure as to what to do...loosen the bolt that hold the pedal , pull up and tighten. I do not want to fiddle not knowing what to do. Can someone please shed some light on this. I will stand by. Thanks. |

				 | If you left the stock quadrant, it's "self adjusting". Reach down, grab ahold of your clutch pedal, pull it up towards the dash. Kinda hard. You'll hear sort of a "zip" sound. Then you should be all set. If it doesn't move, or adjust, you've got issues elsewhere.

				 | When I had my stock quadrent it would not adjust. I had to reach up under the dash and pull it back by hand. I got tired of that and just put an adjustable quadrent and cable in it. |

				 | Thank you for your replies...I am aware of lifting the pedal.I was just under the impression that there is another way by loosening the pedal, pulling up and retightening. I would use my foot to pull up....maybe I was not pulling up hard enough because I would hear no sound. I will use my hand and pull much harder this time. I will let you know if it works. Until later. Thanks !!! |
