A9L Computer
what makes this A9L computer better than the cobra computer and why does the cobra computer get such a bad name for its self? is the cobra computer really a piece of junk? is my 1992 computer better than the cobra computer?

the cobra computer isn't as good as your stock one. it removes timing in the upper rpms

The Cobra computer is terrible. You can't use it unless you have your car setup with 24lb/hr injectors.
It's pulls a ton of timing, especially between shifts. It holds closed loop under WOT for a full 7 seconds, and it's calibrations are weak to start off with. |

Well, I should have my A9L within the next month or so...would have it already but $$ became a problem. I have heard the same things about the Cobra computer as mentioned b4...it pulls timing & stays in a closed loop for basically the 1/8 mile(7 seconds). It is calibrated for my 24lb injectors, but that doesnt compensate for the other shortcomings. So, yes, stay away from the Cobra computer. The A9L is the best Mustang computer produced. Later!

Hey guys this is my first post on this board so be gentle. I just made the swap the A9L a couple of months ago (Also switch to a Pro M 80mm calibrated for 24's at the same time) and I could tell a big difference from that crappy X3Z computer. Why in gods name would bring back the Cobra in 93 and give it better mods then DETUNE it with that computer?

I'm not 100% sure but i think it had something to do with transmission reliability.

Quick question
I have a quick question that kinda fits in here. I have a 93 Cobra computer in my cobra and has a ton more power than my 90GT if I have a custom chip burned will my computer be better "not remove so much timing or stay in close loop" or do I need to swap my Cobra computer for and earlier model??

93 cobra computer
this is a quote from "93 Cobra needs input"

where do you guys get your technical info on the Cobra computer?
the only reason i could think of to "detune" the computer, is for emissions.

The retard in between shifts was infact intended to save the T5's. That is only one of the many downfalls of the X3Z. The A9L swap with a correctly calibrated mass air meter is one of the best bolt on's I have made to my 93 Cobra!
